Community Development
We exist to foster resilience & grow healthy lives in the Greater Pomona Valley & beyond by addressing the 7 Pillars of Health.
At the start of 2025,
we set out to engage our city and surrounding communities in a fresh way. The continued growth of our food bank for over 20 years has taught us that steadfast commitment is the way Christ’s love is displayed in the world. Our Community Development Department seeks to support, deepen, and expand Newlife Pomona’s efforts to foster resilience and grow healthy lives, bringing all people to a loving encounter with Christ Jesus.

What Are The 7 Pillars?
God has created humanity to be multifaceted— physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, relational, sexual, financial.
We believe that in order to live healthy and resilient lives, each pillar of life should be stewarded well. Through partnership with nonprofits, teachers, and workshops, we will equip people with the knowledge and community support needed to live well.

Why A Food Bank?
1 in 5 people in Los Angeles County face food insecurity. We understand that the higher needs of life cannot be met on a perpetually empty stomach.
For over 20 years, the Newlife Pomona Food Bank has provided a reliable source of free groceries for families, freeing limited resources to address other critical & higher-level needs.

What's Next?
The Newlife Pomona Food Bank was just the start.
In the coming years, we will launch 7 Pillar Workshops designed to address the underlying causes of poverty & instability. Workshops will include health & wellness, financial literacy, and addiction recovery.
Your partnership empowers this work to develop & grow.
