At Newlife Pomona, our Sunday Teams are all about creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where people can encounter God and connect with others. Whether you’re greeting someone at the door, helping them find a seat, or making sure our campus is safe, each role matters in helping people take a step closer to Jesus.

USHERS

Help people find seats, manage the flow of the service, and ensure everyone feels comfortable in the worship space.
Ushers also assist with offering collection and communion when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome people into the sanctuary with a smile.

  • Assist with seating and special accommodations.

  • Support service elements such as communion, special offerings, handouts.

Welcome Center

Provide guests with information, answer questions, and help them take their next steps at Newlife.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sign-ups, resources, and church info.

  • Welcome first-time guests and give them a gift.

  • Direct people to ministries and events.

Greeters

Be the first friendly face guests see! Greeters stand at entry points to welcome, smile, and start conversations that make people feel at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet guests and regular attenders.

  • Provide basic directions (restrooms, kids check-in, coffee).

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere from the parking lot to the doors.

Safety Team

Create a safe and secure environment for everyone on campus. This includes monitoring facilities, responding to needs, and working with church staff during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible and reassuring presence.

  • Assist in medical or safety situations. Communicate with pastors.

  • Ensure campus safety during all services and events.
